The Sports Girls Gospel on Mario Chalmers and more

The Sports Girls LLC had an amazing day last week filming with 2X NBA Miami Heat Champion Mario Chalmers and several other professional basketball players.   This was an event set up by former Miami Heat Player Mark Strickland, Floyd Rag, and many others that care about athletes off of the court.  The 4th Annual All Star Professional Basketball Mini Camp was a great success.  It is nice to know that there are athlete's that do so many good things off of the court to help children and various foundations.

The Sports Girls LLC multi medial corporation is designed to be the ultimate destination for sports fans to see their favorite athlete's off of the court.   They will have the opportunity to ask their idols questions that may get answered on LIVE television.  We are working on the final details of The Inside Score, Presented by The Sports Girls.  Our Nation Wide Search is on going.

I recently interviewed Mark Strickland and his goal is to set up four to five basketball mini camps a year to showcase the positive attributes most athletes obtain.  He spends endless hours working with children of all ages, and the time and dedication is impressive.  These children will never forget this experience and I truly want to thank all of the athletes that participated in this event.   The Sports Girls are planning on putting together LIVE TV interviews with several professional athletes and we will use social media to get the sports fan input.  What do you want to know about them?  Stay tuned for more information regarding "The Inside Score".

I have to say that I am extremely impressed with the immaculate details of the Mario V Chalmers Foundation, Mario's Closet and Project 15.  I had the pleasure of meeting Mario's father, who is one really cool dude!  This is directly from his foundation page:  www.mariochalmersfoundation.com

Mario Chalmers Foundation Project 15

Project 15 is a monetary award designed to provide funding to community organizations that inspire youth to participate in educational and recreational activities. Project 15 recipients are awarded based on essay submission and/or community recommendations.

Mario's Closet

Mario Chalmers will always be remembered for making the miracle 3-point that helped propel the KU Jayhawks to the national title in 2008. Now, he's reaching beyond his basketball heriocs by helping cancer patients in the Lawrence Memorial Hospital. "Mario's Closet" will offer patients low cost accessories like wigs, cosmetics, bras and even prostheses. The Miami Heat guard says he always wanted to learn more about cancer after his childhood friend lost his mother to breast cancer. "I try to do my best on the basketball court so people will remember me, but off the court I try to do as much I can", said Chalmers. He added it's important to help out the people who are struggling to battle cancer.

The Mario Chalmers Foundation donated $25,000 to the hospital to create the shop. It will offer items at a reduced cost to some patients and is open Monday - Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Again for more information on this highly reputable foundation visit www.mariochalmersfoundation.com.  I am sure you will be impressed like The Sports Girls Team was.

NBA Season is right around the corner once again.   Thank you so much for reading The Sports Girls Blog!

The Sports Girls have been extremely busy and I apologize for the lapse in my blog.  However, I have some really exciting news about The Sports Girls LLC and I need your help.  As you all know we have been working on our new television series, “The Inside Score”, which will take you inside the personal lives of athlete’s all over the US.  We will showcase the positive attributes they have and go behind the scenes to find out what their passion is off of the field!  We are so disgusted with the negative stories in the media and we are going to change that!  The Sports Girls have a chance to pitch our story to over six million viewers, and we would highly appreciate you following us on Twitter, liking our You Tube Channel, Face Book, and Instagram.

Now lets get down to business.  I had an amazing time at Dolphins training camp in Davie on Wednesday.   Mile Wallace was suited up and several of the wide receivers looked pretty determined to nail down their spot on the permanent roster.  I would keep your eyes on rookie Brian Tyms from Florida A&M as he made a great first impression on that field last Wednesday as well as against Jacksonville last night.  The Dolphins may regret trading Davone Bess to Cleveland, however there are several contenders to replace him this year.  Brian Hartline, the veteran wide receiver looks like he is in the best shape of his life, and can run some pretty impressive slant routes.

The battle for tight ends is in full effect as former New York Jet Dustin Keller shined like the sun on that practice field.  Dion Sims and veteran Michael Egnew will have to battle it out for the final tight end spot.   I got a great audio interview with running back, Lamar Miller.  He is simply super fast!  I need to figure out how to post audio interviews into this blog.  If anybody has any suggestions, please advise J.

Do you think the Dolphins are going to miss Jake Long?  I think that they may.  Cameron Wake is now the icon regarding defensive ends.   The Dolphins owners took an immense risk in the draft to obtain rookie Dion Jordan from Oregon. The defense is looking stronger than ever.  I expect a lot of great changes in the defensive secondary this year, and hopefully they can make an emerging impact in their division early.  By the way: rookie Caleb Sturgis from Florida made a 52-yard field goal against the wind on the practice field.  It was pretty impressive.  He is going to give Dan Carpenter a run for his money.

There are two more pre-season games left so we shall see how the Fins nation fans react to the outcome of their home games against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on August 24^th and the New Orleans Saints on August 29^th.   The Sports Girls will be at camp at 1pm tomorrow getting more interviews, notes, and provide you with the “inside score” on the Miami Dolphins.

Until our next blog keep doing what you do best.  If you want to be a sports girl please visit our web site SOON at www.thesportsgirls.com.  We are on the edge of our seats waiting to hear back from an opportunity that could finally take The Sports Girls LLC to the next level.  Please continue to give us feedback, follows, and your friendly hellos on face book and all The Sports Girls Social Media sites.  New videos are being posted to The Sports Girls You Tube Channel.

The time is now!  Football is back.  It was great to see guys like Jonathan Martin signing autographs for the kids.  The Sports Girls love seeing that!

This has been a tremendous off-season for the National Football League.  The number of arrests has been overwhelming for the average football fan let alone the multiple problems in New England alone.  The Sports Girls would like to point out some of the positive things that have happened within the NFL these past few weeks as we roll around into training camp.

NFL.com's Albert Breer reported Sunday that Clady has agreed to a five-year deal worth $52.5 million in base salary and $33 million guaranteed, according to a source with knowledge of the situation. The contract can max out at $57.5 million.  ESPN's Adam Schefter was the first to report.

The Giants are making their super star shine.  Cruz could earn $43 million on a five-year extension that will be added to his current one-year, $2.879 million restricted tender. NFL.com's Albert Breer reported Monday that Cruz will receive $15.6 million guaranteed, according to a source involved in the negotiations. That would make the entire contract a six-year, $45.879 million deal.  Jay Glazer of FOX Sports first reported the news.

Lamar Miller led all running backs at the 2012 NFL Scouting Combine with a 4.4-second 40-yard dash, but he fell to the fourth round of the draft because of a pre-draft shoulder surgery among other -- more specious -- concerns. Healthy by training camp, Miller quickly impressed as the top big-play threat in the Dolphins' backfield. He finished an inconsistent rookie year with 250 yards at 4.9 yards per rush on 51 carries. (Courtesy of NFL.com) I have personally seen Lamar Miller train, and he is a mighty machine.  He will be a tremendous asset to the Miami Dolphins Organization this season.

The Sports Girls LLC are filming the final portions of “The Inside Score” television series this August.  We are very excited to help promote the 4^th annual All Star Basketball camp at the JCC in North Miami Beach.  This event will feature children ages 7-17 practicing NBA techniques with some of the biggest NBA stars that played and currently play the game.  Some of the athlete's involved are, Mario Chalmers, Norris Cole and Dennis Rodman.  More information coming in our next blog!  If you are interested in having your child sign up for this event see The Sports Girls Fan Page on Face Book.

Much love to all that read The Sports Girls Blog.  We shall see Miami Dolphin fans at training camp on July 21^st, as the team will hit the field a week early to prepare for the Football Professional Hall Of Fame Game in August.  We hope that you had a sexy Sunday.  As Always, we would love to hear what your Sunday entailed.

(Super Sore from amazing workout with Kika!).  Come to her event on July 27^th.  Details on The Sports Girls Face Book Fan Page.  This one is for the “girls” only!

The Sports Girls love Sunday’s, as we believe that it is the sexiest day of the week!  What is wrong with good-looking females liking to feel sexy?  Absolutely nothing from what our followers have told us.  Do you have a problem with sexy females that know their sports?  If you do you might as well stop reading now.  If not we would like to inform the readers of The Sports Girls blog that there are only ten more weeks until the NFL season drives millions of people to the stadium and to flat screens and sports bars everywhere!  Regrettably there have been some not so sexy news this week in the National Football League.

There has been a plethora of news this past week within the National Football League, and unfortunately, most of it has not been good.  Former tight end of the New England Patriots, Aaron Hernandez was denied bail this week, and to make matters worse for him the 2.5 million dollars he was to receive may not happen.  Hernandez was to receive $2.5 million in guaranteed base salaries over the next two seasons, and his contract does not have language to void that money if he fails to practice. However, the New England Patriots believe the Collective Bargaining Agreement should cover them because he has engaged in conduct unbecoming after being arrested and charged with first-degree murder in the death of Odin Lloyd.  They also voided his one million dollar work out bonus that he was to get over the next two years.  We sports girls are still in shock over what this man has done, and he will be spending his sexy Sunday’s behind bars for a very long time.

Marc Sanchez was trying to get his sexy on last week with his “butt” video sensation.  Mark Sanchez's latest alleged "butt" video doesn't make him a wicked guy. There's nothing wrong with a late night of listening to mediocre dance music while sharing the company of attractive area females wanting to party in the off-season right?  I don’t know how the Jets coaching staff feels about this playful activity however it looks like Geno Smith is looking like he may get to become a starting quarter back in the National Football League after all.  We would love to hear your thoughts on this issue.  Personally, I doubt a little buns hurts anybody as long as they can do their job during the season.  However, Marc has not had a stellar career as the starting quarter back for the Jets, and it may be best if he keeps his pants on!

The off-season arrests seem to be endless this year.  In a week filled with off-the-field drama, we're not in the clear just yet.

Indianapolis Colts safety Joe Lefeged was arrested early Saturday in Washington, D.C., on multiple gun-related charges after fleeing from authorities, Washington D.C. Metropolitan Police Department spokesperson Araz Alali told NFL.com and NFL Network.

The 25-year-old Lefeged was traveling in a vehicle around 12:05 a.m. ET, with Aaron Timothy Wilson, 23, when police attempted to stop them. Following a chase, both men were arrested, Alali confirmed. The gun was a .40 caliber, according to a police report obtained by NFL.com.

A preliminary hearing for Lefeged is scheduled for Tuesday, per The Associated Press. The charges include carrying a firearm without a license, unregistered firearm, unregistered ammunition, presence of a firearm in a motor vehicle and possession of an open container of alcohol, Alali said. Lefeged is from Germantown, Md.; a town located about 30 miles from D.C.

The Colts signed Lefeged as an undrafted free agent in 2011. He's scheduled to earn $555,000 this season in the final year of his contract.  Why are these athletes ruining their lives?

UPDATE: The Colts released the following statement Saturday afternoon regarding Lefeged's situation.

"We are aware of the reports regarding Joe Lefeged in Washington, D.C.," the statement read. "At this time, we will have no further comment on the pending matter until we gain more information."

There are several more crazy stories that have been released this week, but it is sexy Sunday and I can think of a million more activities that I would rather be doing right not then harp on them all.  The Sports Girls LLC want to thank everybody that is contributing to our concussion awareness campaign, and spreading the word on our upcoming television series “The Inside Score.”  If you want more information on anything that we are doing please go to www.thesportsgirls.com and please leave us comments.

It is Sexy Sunday!  Go out and enjoy!

Much Love From your Original Sports Girl.  Beth Silverberg
